The ” Cluster Aqüicat ” , a group of companies engaged in aquaculture ( raising aquatic plant and animal species ) , has become today with the leadership eleven Catalan companies with a total turnover of 336 million euros and 1,800 employees.
In a statement, the Government reported that the CEO of Industry, Antoni Maria Grau, has presided over the creation of aquaculture ” cluster ” of Catalonia, the Catalan government driven through Acció , the agency of the Government for the competitiveness of the company.
Clustering is aimed at some 150 companies in Catalonia working in this sector and totaling an aggregate of approximately 1,000 million Euros .
The companies that make up the board are Andrew Pintaluba Aqüicat , CENAVISA , Delta Aqua Redes, the Federation of the Delta de l’ Ebre Mollusks , Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology ( Institute of Food and Agricultural Research and Technology , ITA ) , Hipra, Laboratories Maymó , Musselsforall , Servimar Innova , Technology & Medicine and Cetaqua .
The ” cluster ” is intended to include new members and is open to all companies and agents of the industry value chain : fish and shellfish producers , feed manufacturers , laboratories, biotechnological solutions providers for animal feed and health centers or research.
Creating Aqüicat Catalonia is within the Cluster program that drives the Catalan government.
